USAID IUWASH PLUS Organizes An MIS RPAM Training to Support Safe Water Provision in Salatiga City

On September 7, 2021, USAID IUWASH PLUS organized a training on the Management Information System (MIS) of the Water Safety Plan (Rencana Pengamanan Air Minum—RPAM) for PDAM Kota Salatiga.

The RPAM MIS is a web-based application that enables a PDAM to closely monitor the progresses they have made in terms of improving water quality and to easily evaluate them against the targets they have previously set in their Water Safety Plan documents.

This application devewas developed by USAID IUWASH PLUS, through Local Sustainability and Innovation Component (LSIC), works with PT Agrapana Amarta Reenergi to facilitate the development of the web-based application since mid-2020.

The one-day activity took place as a follow-up to the first training on the management information system of RPAM held in early 2021, as the web-based application. This one-day training focused on instructing PDAM staff to operate the new version of the application as the initial version had since undergone some modifications.

Equipped with lessons from the training, the PDAM staff seek to migrate all data and information on water safety into the application by the end of the month. USAID IUWASH PLUS, through PT Agrapana Amarta Reenergi, will routinely provide online consultation sessions with the PDAM staff to entertain enquires and provide further assistance.

“We express our appreciation for USAID IUWASH PLUS of its supports to PDAM Kota Salatiga, including today’s training on the MIS RPAM,” said Mr. Samino, the Director of PDAM Kota Salatiga.

PDAM Kota Salatiga is among the three PDAMs that participate in the trial of the Management Information System of RPAM. The other pilot PDAMs, namely PDAM Kabupaten Sidoarjo, has received the same training on September 8, and PDAM Kota Makassar, will receive its training in the coming weeks. These three PDAMs are expected to fulfill safe water criteria as regulated by the Minister of Health Regulation 492/2010 on the Requirements of Drinking Water.
